Put your delicious soup in the hands of festival enthusiasts and see if they name you “Charlotte’s Best Soup!” Soups voted best in festival by participants will get their name in a number of local marketing channels, including our own lists of 15,000+ social followers, 30,000+ emails, and 20,000+ website visitors. Plus, get a shoutout with our list of local influencers with over 100,000 local followers.


Needless to say, everyone in Charlotte will want to come to your restaurant!

Amateur Competition

Not a professional chef, but you believe your soup is the best in Charlotte?


Amateur chef’s can enter for a chance to win a $500 prize and bragging rights in this first ever Charlotte competition.


Chefs looking to walk away with the prize should be prepared to hand out 3 to 5 gallons of soup. The more you bring the more people who get to taste your soup!

Additional Details

  • All awards and prize voted on by festival attendees.
  • Restaurant/Professional should bring at least 15 gallons of soup. We will provide a stipend to offset your business’s costs.
  • Amateur cook teams should bring at least 2 gallons of soup, but the more you bring the better your chance to win the prize!
  • Chefs may chose to compliment their soup with a side of their choice.
  • Cooks will be assigned a 10x10 space to cook and serve.
  • Electricity is not guaranteed. Participants should be prepared to manage and serve their soup with their own supplies on site. If needed, sternos and chafing dishes for chefs who do not have access to this equipment.
  • Organizers will provide appropriately sized tasting cups, along with napkins and spoons.
  • Organizers can provide a 6 foot table if requested in advance.
  • Soup should be homemade and prepared ahead of time. All cooked food must be maintained at 140°F.

Once you complete our online entry form we’ll send secure payment instructions along with your confirmation.

Professional Participants

No cost to your business. Please plan to be have staff to serve the day of the event. A stipend check will be provided at the end of the event.

Amateur Chefs

$25 deposit

This deposit will be refunded in full if you show up to the festival with 2+ gallons of soup.

Participants cannot register as an amateur if they currently serve or sell food to the public.
